CURE! 2021 committee

Mark your calendars! Year Three of the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) spectacular annual fundraiser, DESTINATION: CURE! Full Speed Ahead, is scheduled for October 1, 2021, and is shaping up to again be the number one philanthropic event in the River Region. Even better, we are in person this year, which means that so many more people can participate, and greater emphasis can be placed on the ACS mission and those who benefit from the fundraising proceeds.

Aside from raising the critical funds to support the ACS mission, the first priority is the health and safety of our volunteers and supporters which include cancer survivors and patients. Therefore, the CURE! Committee has worked to develop the best event possible, a safe indoor &outdoor event which will be widely available to all interested parties and will be experienced in bold new ways.

We will be face-to-face again, ACS and the CURE! Committee encourage people to join the celebration in a safe-distance celebration like none other—exciting, live entertainment, LIVE and SILENT auctions, and the opportunity to hear from local celebrities and guest speaker Montgomery Commissioner and cancer survivor Mrs. Ronda Walker, Montgomery Mayor, Mr. Steven Reed.

2019 event greatly exceeded expectations, and the challenges of last year's 2020 are allowing us to make this year even better has been accepted, with opportunities to experiment in a new entertainment venue that brings the fun and festivities back together. Enjoy!

This Fundraising event has helped the American Cancer Society raise more than $10 million over the past 25 years…money that helped save and celebrate lives and lead the fight for a world without cancer. ACS and the CURE! Committee are thrilled with this year’s plans, which will feature new experiences and expanded opportunities for the community to be involved.

“We can’t wait,” said Co-Chair Paige Mock “We are working hard to ensure that everything is top shelf. So, be sure to save the date, October 1, 2021, for one grand evening. Be sure to spread the word about this new opportunity to party, with friends, family and coworkers. Of course, your special evening will yield great news for cancer patients who may need transportation to treatment, more treatment options, and, above all, accelerated movement toward a world without cancer.”

The community’s support is very important to the American Cancer Society, and vital to the ongoing work ACS does to improve the odds for remission, recovery, and the quality of life for those currently battling cancer. The money raised at CURE! is used to fund programs and services offered to cancer patients in the community and to aggressively fund groundbreaking research.
